“A Real Good Black Man” is a proposed, community-anchored visual arts exhibition designed to honor the legacy, resilience, and diverse stories of over 100 Black Males, most are Nebraskans. By pairing grassroots local talent with an open-medium, variable-scale concept, this exhibition establishes an intergenerational bridge. The foundation of the gallery rests on a structured subject-assignment matrix paired with total creative, medium, and spatial freedom for the artists.

To foster mentorship and ensure deep community penetration, the 100 artist slots are divided equally into four distinct demographic brackets (from middle school to adult). A panel of guest judges will review the installations to award a Grand Prize in each bracket based on creative execution within their chosen scale and medium.

February 6th: Opening Gala Launch: Catered event with Guided Tour, then a Cultural Panel Discussion: A critical dialogue on Black Boyhood into Black Manhood: What Does It Mean to Be A Real Good Black Man? And the finale is the awards to artists and acknowledgement of all of the Real Good Black Men

Feb 13th: Artist Roundtable: Your Vision of A Real Good Black Man. Artists discuss how they transformed the assigned canvas into an art piece

Feb 20th: Live Performance Art: Without Sanctuary, Will Brown (Omaha, NE). # of Separate Artists depicting Will Brown in real time (Graffiti, Tattoo Art, Body Art)

Feb 27th: Interactive Workshop: GORDON PARKS and ERNIE BARNES - The G.O.A.T. A workshop teaching the public to be inspired by the works of famous Black American Artists
